WaCoyote
Tried the new Fed. flight control wad turkey loads this weekend with mixed results. Camoking=Mossy turkey, stock turk choke, 24" tube. 10ish bone-head hits at 40 yds with Fed. 2oz. #4copper flight control. Winch XX performed poorly. So did regular fed 3.5 inch loads. 4 and 6's. The mossberg seemed more tolerant. My BPS and wild's nova really hates some loads. wacoyote=BPS, Undertaker, 30" tube 15 or so hits with same load at 40 yds. Very nicely dispersed. Improvement over regular Fed. #6 3.5 inch loads which I used to use in the past. I was glad for this because I feel more comfortable with 4 or 5 at 40+yds. Very happy Wild_bill= Binelli nova, undertaker choke 30" tube. Hated the flight control wads less than 5 in the vitals and spotty pattern compared to 15 - 20 with fed copper 4's with regular wad. Very weird. That Nova is LIGHT!!!! Talk about a shoulder punisher!! So the new flight control stuff worked well for me and camo. I'd recommend it. Wouldn't mind the heavyshot but can't justify buying a box @ $25.00 just to find out it shoots poorly.
HeviShot
Re: Fed. Flight Control Wad, try it I also shot Feds in my Benelli the other day also mixed results.Win and Hevi-Shot are my preferred loads. We shot what I had left with a Moss 835 and they performed bad in that gun as well.I mean they would kill a turkey in either gun at 40 yrds but they put 10 or so pellets in the vitals. Heavy shots out of my 870 and love 'em. I can get over 35 "kill" hits at 40 yards and over 50 "kill" hits at 30 yards. Well worth the $ for me. See if you can borrow a shell or two from a friend or see if someone will buy the extra from you if they don't preform good from your gun. KYLimbHanger
Re: Fed. Flight Control Wad, try it I tried the new Federal with the FC wad and loved it. I shoot an 870 with 3 inch #6 Fed's packing a 2 oz. load through a Comp-N-Choke. This did wonders. I also tried 4's,5's, & 6's in Remi HeviShot and was not as impressed. More extensive testing for both the Federali's and the Remi's. I would like to shoot HS for the energy if it can hold a good pattern for me. But it is hard to pass up what the Federali's can do. Guest Squirrelbuster
Re: Fed. Flight Control Wad, try it When I finally get out to pattern my turkey gun, I am going to try some of those flight controlled federals and various others, but no matter how good they perform I deffinately can not afford the Remington HevyShot loads. Guest Rod
Re: Fed. Flight Control Wad, try it I shot some Mag-Shok Flitecontrol last week and was VERY impressed, it patterned great out of my gun, nearly identical out of two different choke tubes. It will be my turkey ammo of choice once I use up my current supply of Hevi-Shot.

LifeNRA
Re: Fed. Flight Control Wad, try it Find somebody that has a box or two of different shot sizes and buy two of each size you want to test! Thats what I would do with hevi-shot! Guest kracey
Re: Fed. Flight Control Wad, try it I patterned my gun today with The flight control #6 3 inch shells and I thought it did great. I was getting 15-23 kill hits every shot at 40 yards. Out of the choke tube that came with the gun
