bowhunter97
Hey guys i have asked some questions about deer before but this time i am totally stumped on. So about 5 months ago i rode into my area where i was feedin the deer and rode in on a button buck. I used to get deer everyday on the trail cam. I had about four does and about 3 different bucks. But ever since i rode in on that deer i havent seen one deer down there. I dont think that I scared them off because for Peets sake i shot a doe in there in august and they didnt stop. I havent even seen tracks any ideas would be great. Thanks alot because i miss getting the pictures.
redkneck
Can't speak for your neck of the woods but up here we had the acorn drop of a lifetime, not a figure of speach but literally. Deer movement was slow, worst season I had in a decade. Be patient, always remember the basics... food, cover, and management. Good luck and hang in there. wtnhunt
Food could be the reason, or could be other factors. Our state biologists equate heavy mast crops to poor deer harvests, we had a lot of acorns here this past season as well. Harvest numbers however were actually slightly better than the year before. Anyone else pressure the area?
ruttinbuc
Baiting equals pressure. The simple truth of the matter is that you pressured deer who have patterned you returning to the same spot time and again.
Ravin R10 man
Maybe you got pythons..I heard they are even catching deer in florida..USA Today had an article and said the pythons are taking over..no wildlife left in some areas..found a deer in one after they cut it open 90# doe Here is the article........explains what has happened to the deer down your way. http://www.usatoday.com/tech/science/environment/story/2012-01-30/pythons-florida-everglades/52893342/1 Edited February 21, 2012 by Mathews XT Man

Let the area sit a while and calm down. 2 weeks or so. Then go back and place your cam, be scent conciuous. You should be back in biz getting pics soon enough. Sounds like maybe you harassed them too much. Tough to say. Could be like the others mentioned and it's due to food sources shifting. Ravin R10 man
you guys should take time to read this; pretty alarming to say the least; Here is the article........explains what has happened to the deer down your way. http://www.usatoday.com/tech/science...des/52893342/1 Edited February 22, 2012 by Mathews XT Man
bowhunter97
The problem with that is i dont live close the the glades and i have never seen a python the biggest snake ive seen out here in 14 years is a 4 foot rat snake. Also where i had the food isnt near a swampy area. Oh yea and i have rode in on deer probably 5 or 6 times before that and that never really bothered the deer. Where i am they are used to this. A while ago me and my buddy had food between our houses and we went got the camera and put corn out. Checked it, came back and all the corn was gone with in probably 45 mins and we had more pictures. lol If any of that came out as if i had an attitude im sorry because i really dont i just dont have any other way to explain it.
