Tominator
Another rabbit saga... Devin (Hardwood HD) and Kyle (Gobblerbuster) came out to my place the other day for our annual bunny hunt. My son Matt joined us. Took us a while to finally jump a rabbit. The bunny took off kind of towards my neighbor's house, so I held off shooting right away, as it darted towards the field, I shot pulling a few good hunks of hair off of it. I didn't follow up with another shot because I thought for sure I'd find it in field. As we approached, Devin saw it lope away, but didn't have a shot. We jumped it a few more times, but it eventually got away. It seems I didn't hit it too hard afterall. In the next 20 minutes or so we jumped 3 or 4 more. We kept trying to catch one sitting still so Matt could pop it, but we couldn't get it done and Kyle ended up shooting 2. We got to the end of the field jumping about 3 more with no shots. We continued down my neighbor's fenceline and adjacent windy, mud slicked field line and didn't jump any there either, so we turned back to the fields. Once in the fields we jumped one more back where the first one flushed. Again this rabbit ran in my neighbor's yard, so I didn't shoot. It was just a little too close to his house. I saw where it ran so I put Devin on that trail. Sure enough, 50 yards into the field it went up again and Dev put a good shot on it. It was on 3 legs as it went past me, so I finished it off. We turned back to my field and I said, "I haven't jumped one over here all year, but we might as well walk it." They agreed and about half way through the field a little one lit the afterburners and took off. I told Dev to go stand by an old grill and I'd try and drive it, but I didn't flush it again. 20 yards later I said that I had seen some track in this general area a month or so ago, and no sooner did I get that out the little booger busted out right in front of Dev. It shot across my field and right across my neighbor's lawn, nearly running into his deck. It scurried into the field, we unloaded, had a sammich and beer and called it a day. Good times boys. Maybe we'll have more snow next February.

Shaun_300
Sounds like a great time Chris, I've only shot a few bunnies in my life, there's not near the population as there used to be in this area. Wish there was!
