PAbowhunter4life
Well, it was windier than heck here today in PA, but I had to try out my new toys... O.k., here is 25 yards in between the wind gusts. Notice the chunk of target missing out of the neck. The picture doesn't do it justice, it's much more impressive in person.... http://www.realtree.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=4290&sort=2&cat=500&page=1 Here is 40 yards during heavy winds... http://www.realtree.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=4291&sort=2&cat=500&page=1 I shot twice @ 40 yards during HIGH winds and both patterns were darn near identical. I couldn't catch a break shooting @ 40 yards and the pattern drifted with the wind, I will post more pics when I get to shhot on a calm day. AJ
Re: Mossberg 835 Rhino/Nitro Patterns On A Windy Day Sweet! Nice patterns. Yep, gotta hold into the wind just like varmint hunting. Imagine if you were holding 3" more to the right?
too_pointer
Re: Mossberg 835 Rhino/Nitro Patterns On A Windy Day Pretty impressive Are those Nitro's the really expensive shells that AJ uses ? too_
PAbowhunter4life
Re: Mossberg 835 Rhino/Nitro Patterns On A Windy D Yes, they are the expensive ones. They are $50 shipped, give or take a buck for 10 shells. However, after seeing the patterns they put out and considering I hunt turkey primarily with a bow, I now have about 10 years worth of shells to use lol. PAbowhunter4life
Re: Mossberg 835 Rhino/Nitro Patterns On A Windy D Finally got a chance to count all the BB's today. Well, brace yourselves. The day was relatively warm yesterday so this is what I attribute the GREAT pattern too, even in the GAIL FORCE WINDS. At 40 yards, within a 10" circle, I got 300 BB's on the nose, and that is counting holes as a single hole that I KNOW are double & triple even on a few. GOD BLESS YOU NITRO RAY!!!!!! too_pointer
Re: Mossberg 835 Rhino/Nitro Patterns On A Windy D Holy Moly, at $5 a pop, I hope you get it sighted it quick too_
PAbowhunter4life
Re: Mossberg 835 Rhino/Nitro Patterns On A Windy D Yeah, expensive, but look at it like this. You could buy 3 or 4 chokes and 4 boxes of different shells to experiment with and that will put you roughly in the price range of the Nitro/Rhino combo. So, for the same price, you get the best patterning combo on the market, and it saves you time at the range and it saves bruises on your shoulder lol. Buy 10 shells, blow 3 at the range, I have 7 left. Since I don't hunt birds in the fall with a gun due to archery season that now means I jave 7 years worht of shells lol. I will never have to repattern my gun again. It is dead on, period.
AJ
Re: Mossberg 835 Rhino/Nitro Patterns On A Windy D Yeah Buddy! Thats how I justify it. Sure there are other combinations that work good enough on the market, but this works outstanding. Sure its expensive, but I am set for many years or many tags with one box of ammo.
