fulldraw
This is the deal. Have a good bit of private land in south GA and has pressure all around it. Every year the bucks seen to get more and more nocturnal, now the does is getting that way. Any suggestions or should I look to leasing land? And there is some great bucks on the property but cant kill em...thanks in advance
redkneck
How many acres are you dealing with? With enough acreage and habitat, outside pressure could be to your advantage.
fulldraw
Around 500. But there is river hard wood bottoms hill tops and everything in between. Just wont move in daylight, and isn't much to the rut round here. Idk, I love bow hunting but but aggravated w it here.
wtnhunt
Got any food plots? Think with that much land if you had some plots and a good management plan you should be able to see some results. Outside the rut a mature buck typically has a home range of a sq mile, depending on your deer density in your area you could have several good bucks around your property. Far as the pressure, I feel your pain, we only have 60 acres and get high pressure around us on all sides. Agree with redkneck on outside pressure too. Could play to your advantage for sure, set aside an area as a sanctuary and leave it alone.
fulldraw
Thanks ya'll. I plant every year and didn't this year, I think big reason I didn't see as many deer this year.
stevebeilgard
I think big reason I didn't see as many deer this year. it's the foodplot and qualty of same that attracts the deer. no good food, no good deer. go positibe and do multiple food plots. that said, the deer are truly getting smarter and truning nocturnal. that means spot & stalk hunting, or stalk & spot. you have to see them first by learning where they live. clint
Changing the deers mood Well to the advent with the pressure I would look and talk ti the other land owners and see what kinda method there using toward their hunting. The point in which I would change the deers time or their internal clock. Would be to put an time adjustable feed out and make the deer see the light of day. fulldraw
Always ran digital timed feeders. Still no luck.
bowhunter97
We had a lease in Early County GA and the year we put up a timed feeder is when they started moving at night.
