Well depending on models and time of year alot of brands will have little or no intrest rates due to them trying to make room for new items. Do your shopping I have seen brands for up to $1000 less then what I paid for mine after I purchesed it but then again I didnt want to travel 8 hours or so to the place. But when your making a big purches like a ATV make sure you get what you want look at what you like and dont like on all the models and just do the process of elimination and what needs you have. But I can tell you fuel injected has by far been a big seller point even more so when its cold out and you dont have to deal with chokes freezing up.

There are a lot to choose from. My best advice would be buy a major brand like Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki, Yamaha, Polaris, Artic Cat, Bombardier etc. ( I have probably mistakenly missed someone ).

There are some Chinese and other imports not well known. Stay away from these. Price sounds good but they are shabbily made and parts may not be available in the future.

Competition amongst the major brands has forced them to build good reliable units. There aren't really any bad ones out there. Try before you ride.

Personally I have 2 Polaris atv's. I like the belt drive while some don't. My 700 has 1600 miles on the original belt and I use it hard pulling drag harrows

Shaun, nice looking machine. Have you ever tried chains on the rear tires? My son has them on the back of his Polaris for the ice and the chains make a bear out of the bike. No problem pulling two fully loaded ice shanty sleds with 4 people on the wheeler across the ice.

I've never tried chains, it's pretty good in the snow and on the ice. Only had a problem once pulling the shack in last year, it was basically glare ice, I could get it to move about 3 feet then I'd just spin like crazy. Had to pull it in with the truck. No problems this year though! Pulled it out and back in again with no problems at all. This machine has a crazy amount of power for a 500. My buddy has a 700 Grizzly and they run side by side no problem, I actually have more top end than he does too.

For sure the glare ice is where the chains shine. We never figured we needed them on the front. Each time we went out this year we had 4 guys riding on the wheeler. Two on the seat and one sitting on each side of the rear rack. Combined passenger weight over 800 lbs. Sure steers easy. LOL

my brother and i have put more hours/miles on 4wheelers than some. as stated they're all pretty good if maintained to a sufficient degree. i've put a ton of miles on many different ones from Yamaha, Suzuki, Polaris, and Honda) probably the one that could take the most abuse was a 2002 Honda Foreman 450 (with a foot gear lever not ES). It doesn't ride or turn as nice as some others though, it's more of a workhorse atv.

If I upgrade, I will trade my wife's or sell it and buy one with power steering. It would make it a little easier for her when she drags and rolls some of the smaller and more hidden food plots we do.

She has a 400 Xplorer 4-WD polaris. Good working machine.

I would go at least 500 cc or larger, probably 750 cc for what we do.

One of the things I was looking at with the newer atvs alot are coming with the liquid cooled radiators and alot of them are in the front on the lower end near the 4wd shaft my thinking with this was I have had sticks and such get push up in that area several times. But looking at the Hondas theres is way up towards the top help preventing this.
