PotashRLS
Me 3. I drew the first season in Wisconsin (6 weeks broken down into 6 one week seasons). I start on Wed. April 11th. We can now hunt 7 days instead of starting on a Wednesday and ending on Sunday. May even buy a left over tag for a later week in May. PotashRLS
Pick anything........it doesn't matter to me. I am starting to get the itch. Our hunter ed. class is almost done and then we have roughly 32 students to take out on the mentored learn to hunt program. It will be a lot of work and a lot of fun. Last year we went 15/17 on birds. Home Page
Wimpy
I'm here! I'll be hunting Ohio also. Asfar as a team name it doesn't matter to me
PotashRLS
I always thought the name "butterball busters" was funny unless it seems like an inappropriate play on words. It is different than some of the other recycled names. JMO

backwoodsbowhunter
Sounds good to me! Seems like a lot of us (including myself) are representing Ohio!!
PotashRLS
I had a little time so I sent Don a PM to update us to the "Butterball Busters" when he got a chance. Spring is coming early here. The large flocks of birds are splitting up and the gobblers are beginning their spring rituals. We will be having temps all week in the upper 50s to 70 on a couple days with some rain. Less than 2 weeks ago we had 14" of snow in two storms. Last year our mentored learn to hunt program hunted in a foot of new snow. Wacky spring weather for sure. PotashRLS
Now our extended forecast is to tie/break records with highs in the upper 60s and some days in the 70s. This will cause an early green up with budding trees and the whole deal. Then we'll get a couple killing frosts or even more snow and kill them all. It is nice but not good. The turkeys are full go too. Gobble Gobble.
PotashRLS
Anybody scouting or doing anything? We've been scouting hard and setting up blinds getting ready for our annual "Learn To Hunt" program with the kids from our hunter safety class. Got some dandy birds located and patterned. Now if the kids can control their buck fever, we'll have some turkey on the ground starting March 31st.
PotashRLS
One more weekend for the youth learn to hunt program. Then my first season begins on Wed. April 11th. I may take some time off of work to get some time in the woods. Anyone else have anything going?

Ohiobucks
Saw two different groups of birds with strutters this morning on the way into work. Our season doesn't start until April 23, with youth season being April 21 and 22.
PotashRLS
I scored on a dandy bearded hen on Wednesday. She won't score worth a hoot but she had a nice full 7 1/2" beard. Fun hunt. I'll post her up later on when things slow down a bit, but I wanted you guys to know we are on the board. Good luck to everyone else. Ohiobucks
Been out twice this past week, can't even spell turkee....
PotashRLS
Keep at er Tom. Locally here having a fanning tom or jake on strings has really got em coming in running. Many of the hens have already been bred and competition is getting a little more intense.

Ohiobucks
Gonna seal the deal either tomorrow or Saturday morning, I can feel it. Came close this morning with 4 different gobblers going mad at sunrise. Right after flydown, I had one hang up at 60 yards, gobbling and strutting back and forth for 10 minutes. After he moved along, I shifted 300 yards down in the woods closer to a different bird. Called him in on a string to 25 yards, but through some thick brush. He wouldn't clear it, and left the way he came in. I've got a better idea where they are roosting now this spring, and I'll be there in the AM, closer and with decoys in the ground.
