jesse8953 Posted March 7, 2012 Report Share Posted March 7, 2012 +1 on the reminton 700.I have 4 of them and they are great guns,I also have a thompson center venture in a .223.It is also a nice rifle.I don't have a .308 bolt action, but I got is a springfeild m-14. 308 is a nice round! I also like the Ruger M77 Mark II rifles, I have one in .25-06 and it has been flawless and it's a tack driver! Savage rifles aren't bad either. for deer hunting i really like a bolt handle the doesn't have to be turn as far like on a T/C and Brownings. LETMGROW Posted March 9, 2012 Report Share Posted March 9, 2012 I have a T/C Icon Weathershield - Camo .308. It's topped with a Bushnell 6500 scope. Great accurate combination. I like the .308 round as it has ballistics nearly indentical to the .30-06 but is shorter action which makes a bolt action a little easier and quicker to cycle. I am also a big fan of the Rem. 700.
