redkneck
He just needs to come out a little earlier so I can re-open bow season. Nice looking young deer. Maybe he'll stick around, figured the diesel fuel would help keep them away, he must be hungry.

woolybear
Looks like a pretty hefty hog John! You got a weight guesstimate? How do you like that Blackout?
redkneck
Matt I got pics of the boar every night, gonna say he's about 160 or so which is past my limit for eating. Clean that thing and you'll be smelling that stink for a while and stink up the house even if you make sausage with it. Still a fun bow hunt if he will come out earlier. The blackout is a good cam for the money. Good battery life, excellent daylight pics, excellent stealth (rare to have anything even glance at it at night). Only drawback is nighttime motion is blurred. Animal has to be pretty still to get a clean shot. Still I'm happy considering the price. I was sick of deer looking at my IR flash. Hopefully I'll keep feeding another week or so and get some sows and little ones coming in during daylight. Otherwise I'll have to drag that big heavy trap down there which will be a PITA. woolybear
Good luck stickin' a couple eaters! I didn't mean to set you up on the Blackout question....I have one too. I just wanted to make sure I hadn't formed a biased opinion to make myself feel better about the purchase, lol. I'm really impressed with mine and agree with your review 100%. I ran it on 15sec video mode for close to 200 clips and deer were oblivious to it. Exactly what I was hoping this unit would deliver...STEALTH! redkneck
Have not tried video mode yet Matt, in fact I really haven't figured out how to set it (without finding and reading the instructions). I'm with you on the stealth, exactly what I was wanting. I was sick and tired of having deer spook at my IR cams. I can put up with a dab of blur on nighttime stills, for a $170 cam this thing is great. Does yours feel like the plastic buckle that keeps the door closed is going to break? Mine works fine, but I swear you have to mash like heck to get it to snap shut, keep thinking one day it's just going to break off.
dbHunterNY
yea seems pretty decent... especially the day light pictures. big pig and not a bad 2.5 yr old buck. hopefully he dumps his bone soon. sooner he does, the better start he'll get for this coming season. I just hope he don't kill over. He's eating corn soaked in off road diesel. Will get him regular again, that's for sure. :eat:
woolybear
Yeah it does lock and un-lock a little tight but no problems so far here either. I'm not a big fan of IR pics myself, but I figure that's the sacrifice I'm willing to make. If it lets me set this thing up in areas I'll actually be hunting without alerting game or changing their patterns to avoid it, I'm cool with that. I know my other cams can't pull that off.
