pointing_dogs_rule
I want one of those small things that hold songs and play them... MP3? I will not use it a lot so I do not want to spend lots of $$$. Any suggestions would be helpful. To be used on hunting trips or when radio reception is bad..... the middle of South Dakota. Can I download song from my CDs if I tranfer them to the computer first and then onto an MP3. good luck to all the dog
Michiganbowhunter_SQ2
IMO nothing beats an iPod and iTunes. How much storage are you looking for? Do you want it to hold your entire library or do you just want to be able to throw a few playlists together before leaving the house? As for getting songs off your CD, its pretty simple with iTunes, open the program, put the CD in and it starts copying them right to your iTunes library. It's pretty simple to use. You can rip all of your CD to it as I said previously and it stores it in your "Library." There is also an iTunes store where you can purchase music, movies, TV shows, apps and so on. If you just need it for 100 songs or so, I recommend an 8gb iPod nano. It is the smallest capacity Apple sells, and the nano is their least expensive iPod. You can get a new 8gb nano for around $120, but if you go to apple.com and go to their refurbished store, you can buy a refurbished one for around $99. Their refurbished products are top notch, I bought my Macbook Pro laptop from there and it was basically a brand new computer with no marks or anything on it. You will also get the same 1 year warranty with it as you would a brand new one. 8gb will hold well over 100 songs, but you never know when you might want more on there. I have an 8gb nano myself and it holds roughly 1500-1600 songs.

ekleo
I personally think ipods are over priced for what they are. I agree with the idea of the phone but you can just go into a local best buy or go on amazon and buy a mp3 that is cheaper than an ipod and is pretty much the same thing
gzilla45
While the iPods are a nice product, I think you are mostly paying for brand name with them. You can walk into any Best Buy and get a nice mp3 player for about 50 bucks. I've had a Sanyo for about 5 years and only bought a new one because I wanted more space. Pretty much all other players will work with Windows Media Player and you can upload CDs to your library there as well. Just one man's opinion though. It sounds just fine to me.
