fly
Bought this for 280.00 from my cousin (exactly what he paid) today after hitting a paper plate every time at 20 and 30 yards. It's a Taurus 357 mag 6-shooter double action with a 6 inch barrel. It's used, but in good shape. It will not see a lot of shooting. Maybe 10-20 rounds per year. I primarily want it for security when I hunt black bears with a bow in the spring. Do you think the price was too much / about right / I got a good deal? Thanks

redkneck
I think that's a fair price, maybe not a steal but pretty decent bargain.
fly
I think that's a fair price, maybe not a steal but pretty decent bargain. Good to hear. I know very little about handguns. Ddin't even know the model till asked here on the forums. I then looked up the model number. I know it sure is a loud son of a gun!
redkneck
I think you definitely chose a good night stand weapon. Just gotta watch what direction you point it in (God forbid you ever need it for defense) but that puppy will go through walls into other bedrooms. Strut10
You did alright. Enjoy shooting it !!
fly
I made a mistake on the model number, Taurus has a model look up web site I found and it is actually a model 669, made in 1991.
LETMGROW
I have a Taurus M. 66 just a little older than your 669. I shoots well also. I put Pachmar grips on mine and liked it even better. Never any trouble. Keep it clean with a drop of oil or two and it will be foolproof. Your price was fair. Enjoy, Lynn
