kcall
What's some tips on using turkey diaphragm calls?
dbHunterNY
first the call has to fit right... get some sharp scissors. cut the sides of the tape (outside flexible part of the call) a tiny amount at the time equally on the right and left. the call should fit to the top of your mouth and seal without hitting your teeth on the sides. then only if needed, trim the least amount off the back you can to keep you from gagging. an easy to blow call that fits right can very surprisingly easy to use with practice. too many people just try calling right away. first (part of the fitting process) you should be able to put it to the roof of your mouth like a piece of hard candy. you should then be able to make a consistant high pitched whistle sound by saying "sssssssssss...". you calling will sound much better in the end. if someone is just starting out, there's also calls that are much easier to blow than others with super rasp and other characteristics. a call that's easy to blow like the Team Primos Will Primos edition will make the learning process quicker.
