Dawg
I've been tossing around the idea starting a workout routine. After procrastinating for awhile I finally started today with the Insanity program. I initially was going to start with P90X but after talking with my good friend (who is a purple belt in Brazilian Jujitsu) about it, he urged me to start with Insanity to get slimmer and down to my goal weight then work my way to P90X to build muscle. I lasted about 20 minutes today. My buddy was there coaching me along and will be sort of my personal trainer. That's going to help me stick with it. Even though I feel like hammered dog poop, I'm really looking forward to getting into shape. Rambling over.

cowboy778
Good for you. I lost 3" in my waist by changing diet and lifting. I still don't do cardio. I should get off my butt and do it. I can ruck 6 miles easily with a 35lb pack though so I am ready for Elk Season. Stay with it.
Dawg
Did you buy the CDs? No sir, my buddy has both programs, Insanity and P90X. He converted his garage into a gym. Punching bags, dumbbells, ropes, etc.... I walked a mile this morning, timed it at 17 minutes. Looking forward to todays workout.

Hoosierbuck
I have been hitting it pretty hard for a while now. Did P90X. Still use some of the CD's sometimes, but am doing a lot of other stuff, too. Running 6 miles at a good clip, lifting some moderate weights. Got in good enough shape that I am playing rugby again, after an 18 year break! First game is tomorrow, we'll see if they cart the old man off on stretcher or if I still got a little left in the tank. Keep at it! It'll add years to your life, and life to your years! m gardner
I'm older and have been doing "Sweating with the Oldies". Which is going to the exercise room at the 55 plus community and watching the old people sweat. They didn't think that was funny either. :helpsmilie:But really, I do the eliptical trainer and weights and can still elk hunt at 9000 feet and actually kill elk too. Emcgehee
Workout/Exercise I started by using the c5k or couch to 5k app. It's a very good app and will have you running a 5k in 5 to 6 weeks no matter how out of shape you are now. I've lost 35 lbs so far and ran my first 5k 1 month after starting the app in 28:11! I'm currently running 4-6 miles a day.
Michiganbowhunter_SQ2
Well I started my Insanity workout today by doing the fit test. If I am wore out by doing that, I can't imagine how I am going to feel when the actual workout starts . It feels good though. One thing I do need to do is get a better pair of shoes and a mat of some sort to put on the basement or garage floor.
The_Kat
Stick with it Corey....the results and self confidence you gain when people start asking you if you workout, or what is your secret, are you on roids, etc, really makes it all worth it. I've been back in the gym for a year and a half and 9 months hard core. I feel great. One key thing your gonna have to shape up if you wanna get in shape is your diet. Eat lots of protein and lots of lean foods. Grill steamed tilapia is one of my favorites. If you don't diet right, all the working out in the world is just gonna make your fat roll harder. Fuel your body right and it will react right.
Hoosierbuck
Resurrecting to post a pic of the old guy (41) making a tackle last Saturday. I hurt a little longer than I used to and there are other issues to deal with that weren't there when I was 21, but it's still fun, and a great motivator to stay in shape. Laugh with me, not at me, K? HB

92xj
Well, today was weigh in for me. Started at 262, right now at 223. I'm sticking to my diet hard core but lacking a lot of excercise. I ordered Power 90 today. So, when that gets here next week, I will start that and not miss a day and see what happens. This time, I am not giving up or going back to my old ways. Its life changing time.
