RainbowTroutHoney
I would like to take up bowhunting but I need a bow. I am willing to pay up to 350 dollars for a bow either a Bear, Elite or Matthews. Any suggestions on bows around that range that would be a good start for an inexperienced bowhunter? :chat:

ChrisSeb53
You will be hard pressed to find any of those brand name bows new or newer for how much you are willing to spend. Mathews makes a more affordable line of bows called Mission Archery. I would check them out. Personally, I would go to your local bow shop and see what they had used. Usually they will let you shoot the bow before you buy. Also, your local pro shop should be able to fill you in on a lot of useful tips and information. Rackmasta68
Need some bow advice. A Hoyt won't do you wrong either . I swear by em' it's all I use. But you gotta find one that "YOUR " comfortable with
whitetailfreak55
I agree with the used bow. If its your first year bowhunting nothing wrong with a year or two year old bow still shoot the same
shawn8157
I would go the used bow route to make sure you enjoy it, you should be able to get a good used bow for that price. You do need to have it set up by a good bow shop, a bow not fitted to you will make it tough to shot and enjoy. I'm a big fan of hoyt but most brands now days will get the job done. I will warn you, bowhunting is very addicting and you may get yourself completely wrapped up in it (not a bad thing, happens to a lot of us)

redkneck
Lots of good new bows to choose from. Look on Ebay for a search for Fred near (or whatever). Good 2011 models being moved out for half price like the Strike ready to hunt package for $369.
RainbowTroutHoney
I sure hope so. I haven't found one around me yet . . . looks like I got to google it. Good point if my bow isn't fittest right the lack of balance means my whole shot will be angled way off. Being hooked on bowhunting is alot better than getting into trouble. Tony
Give me your draw length and poundage you want. I have several hoyt bows i would let go very cheap if they fit you
cowboy778
I like PSE as a good starter bow, cheap and shoot pretty good. You can actually get a package deal online for a new bow and for someone who does not know much about bows I don't suggest a used bow unless you have someone who knows what they are doing size it, check the limbs etc.
Cole14bowhunting
Need some bow advice. The razer edge is 329 brand new and all you need to buy is arrows and a release so it ain't bad and it's a really good bow and Parker has some nice bows around that price

Being hooked on bowhunting is alot better than getting into trouble. yup... you want one that fits. if you go to a bow shop they can tell you what draw length and poundage you should shoot. from there you can shop around. if you know a bow year make and model you can look up specs online. while you think about the purchase. you should try to shoot anything you're going to buy to compare with others you're looking at. plus if you're into full sized bows and not a youth then buying used as mentioned by the others is a good thing. you can possibly get a better bow for the same money that you'd put into a new one. staying out of trouble is probably a good idea too. lol

Tony
how cheap if you dont mind me askin lol under 300 each for the 03 camo Protec, 03 Flame Protec and 04 Ultratec. havent really decided on a exact price yet for each one. the camo bows are 60 to 70 pound and the target protec is a 50 to 60. i would just like to get a good bow into the hands of someone that will use them. these are used bows and they have some signs of use on them, but they all shoot great. RainbowTroutHoney
I just got into hunting last year. I'm almost twenty so I'm not so young but I still want a good bow. I read the books, magizenes and watch all the shows to get a real good idea about the bows out in 2012 and the bows from last year. Draw length and poundage no idea. I'll have to talk to an expert to find out.
RainbowTroutHoney
Better safe than sorry as I always tell myself. Amen to staying out of trouble. You stay out of it more often than out it'll stay away from you.
