brad dryden
Im sure you can train it to do so. I have a beagle he would run rabbits but also when a squirrel was out in the yard he would run it to the tree and then run around the tree. But never had a issue when I would take him out rabbit hunting. I have heard of people having issues with beagles running deer befor. Emcgehee
beagles We used to use them to run deer in arkansas, but they made it illegal. It was a blast.

bowhunter97
im sure you can but dont you wanna shoot the tree rats while they are sitting on the ground rather than chasing em through the trees? I have done both but im just wondering.

Ultradog
I hope you don't have any close neighbors. Beagles are one of the barkingest breeds there is. And their voice carries a loooong way.

wtnhunt
Good luck with the beagle, sure it can be trained. We have a mixed breed stray that showed up in our yard, she loves to chase and tree squirrels, I don't squirrel hunt though.
