Cooper Zeon LTZ tires

Recommended Posts

Bought an '07 F150 FX4 with under 50K miles last week (replaced my totaled '04 F150 4x4) that still had the stock Pirellis on it that are nearing replacement. Been checking out tires and came across the Cooper Zeon LTZs. I was running BFG AT KOs on my '04, but was looking at other options. The new truck is running the Ford 20" premium rims. The Zeons look good in pictures I've seen online and I've read many, many good reviews on them. Has anybody got any experience with these? Thanks.

Some quick feedback on the Cooper Zeons I put on. I've put a little over 1000 miles on them over about the past 6 weeks. So far I've been pleased with them for my everyday driving, about 22 miles/day, which is all on pavement, with 7-8 stoplights and I don't get much chance to go above 60 mph. Mileage is hovering around 15.5 mpg, which is about 1.5 mpg higher than the worn out Pirellis that were the same size. The one longer interstate trip that I took (about 140 miles one way), I got about 16.5-17 mpg with the cruise set about 71-72 mph. I can live with that as it's better than I was getting with the Pirellis and the BFG A/Ts on my previous F150. Handling is good and road noise is slightly higher, but not that noticeable. Haven't really had the chance to get them off pavement to see how they handle a little rougher terrain. They're not extremely aggressive, but more so than your typical road tire. A nice blend for my needs.
