cowboy778
I am in the process of looking at a Ford F-250 Diesel. Anyone out there drive diesels have any complaints or how is the gas economy compared to a Reg Gas vehicle. I want it to eventually get a RV to pull and for the four doors to throw the kids in back. Looking at 2003 and newer. Im also selling my 2000 F-150 with 94,000 Miles if anyone is interested. I live in CO.
Shaun_300
Heard some bad things about the 6.0L diesel engines. They are BAD for head gasket issues and it's like a 25-30 hour job because you have to lift the cab off the frame to pull the cylinder heads. Not being biased but I'd consider a Chevy Duramax 06+ myself.
Emcgehee
Buying a Ford F-250 Diesel. Just don't get the 6.0 ! The rest of the 250's are fine.
Trevor
I have a 2003 F-350 truck I drive every day for work. It has 7.3 l power stroke with 973000 km on it. My boss wanted to get rid of the truck but I wanted to see if it would go for a million km. The truck has never let me down, has original trans, injectors, fuel pump and turbo. I get the oil changed every 10000 km faithfully. Hope to have one million km by June are July as long as it keeps running. So I'd look for a truck with the 7.3 L power stroke and has lots of power to pull a RV.
The_Kat
Unless your gonna be pulling often get a gas burner. Diesel is more expensive than gasoline and you don't get any better fuel mileage with a diesel. They have tons of power but you pay for it. I love my duramax....but I also pull a 14000 lb 5th wheel regularly. If it wasn't for it I'd have a 6.2L GMC gasser.
stevebeilgard
i have my 2nd duramax and love it. 180,000 trouble free miles. diesel is expensive. next time i'll most likely get a gasser as i don't pull my trailer much any longer. i get 20 mpg empty and down to 8 pulling up to 20,000lbs. i do know folks with a 6.0 and they all say never again.
