Shaun_300
Picked up my share of venison from my parents tonight, jerky, pepperettes, sausages and steaks. Ripped open a pack of jerky and I can't stop eating it! Sooo good. :eat::eat:

Shaun_300
We butcher the deer ourselves but get the sausages, jerky and pepperettes done at the processors.
Shaun_300
What are pepperettes? Pepperettes are like meat sticks, not sure what you call them in the States.
Dawg
Gotcha......I call them slim jims. Ate a lot of the name branch Slim Jims as a kid and that's what has stuck with me when referring to any type of meat stick.
bowhunter97
Field to freezer to the plate, we do all our own here. same over hear also we just call "pepperettes" venison sticks. But yea you can smoke the jerkey use a dehydrator or an oven. I like the oven for it though it is the fastest and the dehydrator just isnt the same.
