bowhunter97
i was looking for our dehooker and my brother and i didnt see it in our normal boat. In the pull barn there is our other aluminum boat. This boat is really old it is like 13 foot and the floor is wood. A few months ago my brother took off the side panels to redo it. I looked in the boat and saw a pocket knife. Sadly the knife was all rusted and looked really old and you couldnt even open the other blade. Oh btw the knife alreaady had one blade open that was really dull and the edge was all bumpy and stuff so i took it home. I walked up to my dad and i said "You know whats sad... this knife will" i didnt even get through my sentence and he freaked out and said "WHERE DID YOU FIND IT???!!!" i freaked out because he scared me and i said "in the boat" he said "i've been looking for this knife for 4 years, this was the knife your granddaddy that he used all his life, i've been looking for this one and a bone handled knife ever since grampa got into that accident, this knife when sharpend good will just take the hair off your arm with less than the wight of your knife". I cant believe it happend just like that and its a case too.

stevebeilgard
yep, an old knife like that most likely has great steel. it should come out fine.

LETMGROW
Throw the knife into a jar of anti freeze for a few days. You will be amazed at how it loosens rust without damaging the knife any more. Glad you found it. Lynn
stevebeilgard
good point, lynn. it works. i keep my trolling lures in anti freeze up in alaska. this year, i have a gallon or wd-40 to put them in. it's fish oil based and will release that smell they like. wd-40 will be good for all you fresh water fishermen, too.
