Emcgehee
So after sitting in the fridge in salt water for a week, I decided to smoke the breasts from the turkey I shot last Monday. I have never smoked anything, and never had wild turkey, so my hopes were not high. Well let me tell you, this is the best thing I have EVER prepared! Absolutely amazing. I just made a rub out of pepper, onion powder, garlic salt. And placed it ton the right side of the grill with a small oak fire in the left side of the grill. My mouth is still watering. wtnhunt
Smoked turkey is always good. Usually use hickory or mesquite here, but used a mix of pecan and hickory the last couple times I have cooked turkeys.
dbHunterNY
wishful thinking i suppose, but when i shoot a turkey sometime in May i want to smoke it. I picked up a Grill Mates Hawaiian marinade packet. I think i'll use that and smoke it in some apple wood chips. kababs with peppers and other stuff.... seemed like a good impulsive idea and buy at the time.
