Cleaning after patterning?

Is it ok to clean the gun barrel after patterning? I've heard both ways - don't clean and do clean. I just put some Winchester Double X through my 20 ga. with the Undertaker and think I've got the pattern pretty decent, If anything the pattern could be a tad higher but the turkeys on my target were more than dead at 30 yards. I'll post some pics later.Let me know about the cleaning, thanks!

Never bothered my zero before Ruth. Fine tuned my zero before turkey season last year. Cleaned it several times since then...still holding zero last time I checked it a few weeks ago.

Forgot to mention that i learned today it's way easier to pattern with a good solid rest for the gun, makes a world of difference

Absolutely!!!

I run a snake thru mine after each shot, don't bother to oil or actually remove residue, just a clean barrel for the next shot.

i do the same. my barrel seems to come clean pretty easy, but after several shots i do usually clean my choke tubes really good. they get more build up.
