redkneck
Haven't seen one around here in ages. Used to be a trophy with the BB gun as a kid. I may have killed the last of their kind. :gun2:
Tominator
Why in the world would you kill a meadowlark? I have one hanging around our place this year. Not too many birds sound as good.
redkneck
Why in the world would you kill a meadowlark? As a child, being both young and dumb, anything that could be brought down with a BB was fair game. I can assure you I never touched the population in a measurable way. Robins on the other hand were always dumb enough to sit there a little too long as I worked my stealthy magic. :clown: The only birds that were actually off limits were blue birds, hawks, and owls, not that I stood much chance of taking down the latter 2 anyhow. Ultradog
The feral cats are killing off our songbirds at a disheartening rate. If I see a cat on my land I see to it that it doesn't kill any more birds.
Turkeygirl
Songbirds are illegal to kill in NY. I have seen them but not in a few years.

Orion_70
I haven't seen one in ages. The fire ants, coyotes, skunks, coons and especially feral cats have taken a huge toll on them.
