dbHunterNY
I just got a go pro and would like yo know if anybody uses them and tips. Also I started filming hunts this past bow season and would like some tips please thank you don't film hunts but i've been told that a good tripod and tree arm is a must and then remote zoom is nice. i guess you don't have the twitch when zooming way in because your pointing it and then not touching the camera. toddyboman
I do not film hunts..Ive always heard that either you hunt or film not both ..... good luck LOTS AND LOTS OF TRUTH HERE!! I try and film all my hunts and when I am bowing hunting either you get good footage with NO SHOT/kill or you get no footage and a Good Shot/kill. Seldom do you get both. Now if you are going to film for someone else then things are different, but filming for yourself is a challenge. But it is one I enjoy Good luck! dbHunterNY
Thanks I'm going to invest in a new camera this year to really start if you plan to use the footage for anything other than personal use, make sure it's a high definition (HD) camera. Kinda cut back on taking the camera with me. Only ever gotten one kill shot on deer of my own and that was with a ml'er, gotten a couple of kills of my daughters. A decent camera arm and being comfortable with the setup is a must. Some good advice above on the remote too, trying to fumble around with zooming is not something you want to do when you are about to take a shot. Would suggest setting up the camera and mount and practicing drawing your bow and getting the camera ON where your shot is gonna be before season opens.
