Leo
Nine years ago today I was in an accident that put me in a coma for weeks and changed my life forever. I had to re-learn how to walk, talk, dress myself, feed myself... Now I'm playing guitar again. Starting to get my singing voice back. And doing some things around the house. I still have some problems but I've got a life. Today is the day I reflect on how much I have to thank God for.

ruttinbuc
That faith in God and your positive attitude to learning it all again is the best therapy for your recovery. I have witnessed your struggle first hand since our meeting in Denver. You have come a long way my friend.
woolybear
Good to hear things are looking up for you Leo. That's a good reminder that we can get through even our toughest times as bad as they seem at the moment.
wtnhunt
Kind of puts in perspective how much we may sometimes take such simple things for granted, things can change in the blink of an eye. Glad you made it Leo and glad things have continued to improve for you.
dbHunterNY
hope things continue to get better for you too... regardless it's pretty incredible what you've gone through. If you thank God for the simple good things in life you tend to notice you're getting more of them.

Leo
The first picture is a couple months after the accident. By November I was still cross-eyed, struggling with balance and using my right hand (formerly paralyzed). I've been through so much physical therapy it's ridiculous. The_Kat
Dads doing well. Dealing with insane amounts of pain daily in his head and entire right side of his body. They have him on loratabs for life basically. He still has seizures occasionally, but all his scans look good. His mental status has been the hardest part. His emotions can go crazy sometimes and he will become very angry/aggressive over nothing, and sad to the point of crying over nothing. He's often said he wished he would have died in the crash. Not exactly something a son wants to hear....but I know he's hurting and lost the strong military type person he was before the crash. I can't imagine...
