That's about the only kind of snake we have up here, do see the odd black water snake though, not sure if that's the proper name for them, big long ugly buggers! Don't mind the garter snakes, especially if I see them from a distance before I'm right on top of them. Do must admit they startle me if they catch me off guard, but I don't run and scream like a girl though.

See them here from time to time. Mostly been seeing chicken snakes around here lately, much rather see them than the cottonmouths and copperheads. Dunno where the black racers have gone to, not seeing near as many of them, they kill venomous snakes, good to have around.

Fire ants have taken their toll on many of our species of birds and snakes among others.

Noticing crows carrying off what appears to be eggshells the past couple weeks. Dunno how many of those are turtles, turkeys, or snake eggs. Season on the crows opens up in a couple weeks.:yes:
