ruttinbuc
Coming home from turkey hunting yesterday I came across a newborn fawn nursing. Mom let me shoot a little bit before leading the little one back into the cover. I feel fortunate to have witnessed the scene.

dbHunterNY
yup should start seeing them... higher buck to doe ratios will get you earlier born fawns. start seeing some around june here. we'll see.
wtnhunt
Nice footage there Mike. Don't know that I have ever seen or gotten pics of any newborns that new. That doe looked like she was mature, think she had another fawn hidden nearby? Our rut was so screwy here last year, I kind of think it possible there may be some early drops here. I don't know if there was another one, William. There could have been. Last year had a few single fawns with mature mothers. I did see some does that looked real pregnant and some not so much in my sightings while turkey hunting. I'll keep an eye over there. The doe should be easy to spot with that messed up knee joint. Looks like she injured it at some point. Glad you all enjoyed the video.
dbHunterNY
yea had some single fawns here too. lots of coyotes though. i've seen some that looked like they were probably carrying ready to drop. once june hits we really start seeing them here. have to watch close when we mow hay fields at my parent's farm.
