deer minerals

Trophy Rick will do fine. A salt block is probably the best attractant. Also note that most deer located in the Midwest area get their needed minerals and you really aren't affecting antler growth to a noticeable amount. In fact unless you just plain live in a horrible area I would venture to say minerals do very little for your herd.

Yet I put them out myself every year :)

Most commercial minerals will work for attracting deer, trophy rocks work well around here, but mostly using deer cain anymore. How much deer use your minerals will depend on the needs in your area.

As far as how beneficial minerals can be to your herd in the way of antler growth, guess a biologist would be the best to answer that question, which I am not. I do know though that dicalcium phosphate will help in antler growth.

1/3 stock salt, 1/3 trace mineral, 1/3 dical phosphate. All can be found in 40-50 pound bags at co op. I also add grape kool aid that's premixed with sugar in the tub with it.

The grape kool aid works miracles for getting them started in your site, get the wally-world great value stuff with sugar added, no need to add it again once it's established.
