gzilla45
Anyone else watching this mini-series on the History channel? The first two episodes have been great and I can't wait to see the final one tonight. I didn't know much about the feud but based on the little of it I read today, the show is pretty accurate. Hard to believe the terrible things they did to each other.
WHISKEYSWAMP
I've been watching it. I've always been a fan of that era of American History.

NS whitetail
It is a pretty good show and unbelievable how ruthless they were.
Ethan Givan
Yep watched the first two parts, and looking foward to the third. Pretty good show, just wonder how close it follows the events of the real feud. Pretty crazy stuff if its historically accurate.
ruttinbuc
By all accounts the producers of the show have made it as historically correct as they possibly could. It was a tough time in the south after the civil war. What is revealing in the feud is the faith in god by Randall McCoy and his family and not so much on the Hatfield side. The stealing of the pig was just icing on the cake for the feud. The character of Anderson and his deserting the Confederacy fueled the hate as well. Interesting indeed. swohiodave
I am really enjoying the series. It is hard to believe that is how society used to be.

Jesse555
Very interesting indeed! Has made me want to learn more about the whole thing!
Dawg
It was a good show. What I find interesting is in the end Randall and Anse became polar opposites of who they were when the whole thing kicked off, it seemed to me in the beginning they actually despised the person they became......Randall a God cursing drunk and Anse finding God and being baptized. Which brings another interesting thought to mind......Randall ended up losing his mind, becoming a drunk and burnt to death. Anse ended up finding peace within himself, became a Christian and died in his sleep. Coincidence? I think not. gzilla45
Overall I was glad i spent the 6 hours watching it. The show was good historically as well as being a high quality production. I just wish I wouldn't have spent 30 minutes yesterday reading about the feud and knowing how it was going to end. My only beef with the show was the very end when they were showing what happened to everyone later in their lives. Most of the blurbs were too fast to even read and I missed some of them! Oh well...very impressed with the history channel on this one as they have really went to "reality" TV lately and gotten away from what they do best. c_lou
I thought it was pretty good. I agree about the ending blurbs, they went way to fast.
dbHunterNY
Dad watched it and was telling me about it. Brutal and violent stuff went on from what it sounds like.
stevebeilgard
i saw it all, and enjoyed it. the civil war was also much less than civil, so the killing there was just "normal" for them. i do have a problem seeing how both sides believe in god, yet kill anyway. seems to me i recall a word or two about killing others. anyway, history tells us that mans inhumanity to man is very real. that's a sad part of history. wtnhunt
Sad part of history in this country for sure. Got to watch it last week. Was also kind of curious about the accuracy of the movie as compared to historical records. Gonna try to do more research on it sometime. Thought that was interesting too. With all the hatred and killing and the way the feud was kept alive, was interesting to see how things ended.
arrow32
It was a great show. I watched it every night. Being that I live here in West Virginia we had alot of stuff on it in school from time to time. Thought the show was pretty close to be right just about the whole time as said. Only thing I didn't really like was the ending couldn't read it.

Blade
I watched all 3 episodes. I still cant believe this was over a pig!
arrow32
I watched all 3 episodes. I still cant believe this was over a pig! It's was over more than just a pig. I think also the hatfield boy and McCoy girl pushed things even further. It's hard to tell tho. But could you imagine being back in that time watching this take place. They had no idea they would be in history books for the rest of time due to this.
