Glad to hear she is gonna be ok. Hope she gets to feeling a lot better and does not have any more problems Cody.

A 4 hour wait in the ER is pathetic.

waiting in the ER stinks. Too many people abuse it. I work for a hospital and when I took my wife in we waited over 2.5 hours. Glad to hear everything is ok.

I agree, I've worked in several different ER's over the past few years and a conservative estimate would be that 50% of the patients have no business in an Emergency Department. Glad to hear it worked out for OP

when the baby comes you will be in for ear infections..sinus infections etc...and other things..if a baby wont eat you need to go in

That unfortunately is part of why the ER visit waits are so lengthy. Most of the time you will take the baby to a pediatrician or family doctor for the things Martin mentioned Cody. Our youngest is 14 months old, he has not been to an ER, ever. Allison our 6 year old has been to the ER once, only because our pcp failed miserably in diagnosis and she ended up having to have an emergency tonsilectomy and abcess removed. We took her to a convenient care clinic on a Saturday, because our family doctors office was not open, and they sent her directly to the ER. Nicole has had two surgeries, but I do not recall her ever going to the ER.

Too many people on "free" healthcare programs go to the ER every time they or their kids have the sniffles, part of what has driven up healthcare costs.

Your right about the free healthcare thing william. I mean there were people in there the other night who would walk outside and smoke every 5 to 10 minutes. It might be just me but if you are able to do that I don't think your in killer need of medical care at that point in time maybe Im wrong I don't know.

Ive been to the ER one time in my life and that was when I broke my foot other than that for myself I've never been. People just take advantage of it.

Amen to that. Those of us with insurance know the real cost of going to the ER. Generally speaking it is the absolute worst care you will receive at the absolute highest cost. I do my absolute best to stay out of them.

Yes William I agree..but for some reason, I recall Ashley and now Breylen having to go to the ER because it was a weekend or Holiday and waiting was not and option.

breylen had some congestion all weekend..i doctored him best I could with childrens liquid Tylenal, and he sounded a bit better and slept pretty good..but today

Breylen actually went to his doctor today..

there again, people bringing sick kids to the nursury at church and dumping them off...Ashley was working the nursury that day and of course she caught the crap, and Breylen caught it from her..suppose I'll get it from Breylen now..

Funny how it works Martin, seems our kids fevers would most often spike on the weekends or they would come down with some nasty crud that would always seem to be the worst on the weekends. We have never taken our kids to the hospital for that stuff though. There is a "convenient care" clinic that is open weekends and later hours here we have taken the kids to a few times on Saturdays.

Church nursery can be terrible for crud. We try to keep our kids home when they are sick. Few months back we had a baby that turned out to have rsv in the nursery at our church, wife was pretty concerned with leaving our son there, so for about a month I either stayed home with him or we took him with us to service.
