whitetailfreak55
Has anybody checked out the new whitetail slam? Thinking about signing up for it. It looks pretty interesting. If you shoot a Buck from 4 different slam zones you get a whitetail slam, much like a Turkey slam. There are eight zones and if you get a Buck from all eight zones its an ultimate slam. You get a certificate and other things for filling either slam
Maine Hntr
Haven't seen anything about it, what or where are the "zones"? Sounds pretty cool though.
whitetailfreak55
Its easier to read about then explain lol. Your from Maine and I'm from Iowa. That's two different zones. The website is whitetailslam.com. its real interesting to see how whitetails differ from one zone to another. The other thing I found interesting is they count the couse deer a whitetail in the slam but mule deer are not.
dbHunterNY
yup saw that back a while ago. much more feasible the north american super slam which would cost around $300,000 and a good portion of a life time to complete if you're successful every hunt. definitely would be fun still. Ravin R10 man
Good luck..I'd rather stay home and hunt
hoosierhunter
The Slam Just a new marketing gig for someone to make money. It's like tee ball and everyone gets a award for simply playing. So just because I shoot fork horns in different areas I get an award??? Yep that makes complete sense to me.
wtnhunt
Tennessee deer are a re-introduced mix of subspecies, they are not the virginia deer that were originally native to the area. Wonder if that would make them count for more than one on the list, for example if you kill a wide texas type deer and then a heavy thick bodied kansas type deer you would essentially be half way to the slam, right? That 8 subspecies listed is leaving out a few too, did not have the kansas whitetail, it lumped them in with the dakota deer. I hope to someday go on a coues deer hunt and also hope to kill a whitetail buck away from home somewhere, the slam however really don't think that it is something I would spend the money on.
