Guest Colorado Bob
This is a buddy deal. I don't want to take advantage of my buddies problem but nor do I want to get taken advantage of. He's a little short of cash. So I told him I would buy one of his scopes----He thought $400 but I said I'd go $450. Choices are a Leupold 4-12----40mm---I think it's a Var II------brand new had in on the gun & then toook it off. The other is a Nikon 6.5 x 20 with knobs & AO-----not real sure on the model. I think the Leuopld is just about retail----not sure on the Nikon. Which one would you pick. I'm leaning towards the Leupold---I can put it on a 30/06 I have that has medium rings on it. I don't have a 22-250 with is really what the Nikon is for----varmit gun. I don't think I can resell & make a buck.
AJ
Re: help on scopes The Leupold VX-II 4-12x40 can be had NIB for $400. Is it one of hte VX-II or the older VariX II? The older ones did not have the click adjustment. The Nikon Monarch 6.5-20x44 runs about $470. You could put the Nikon on your 444.
