arrow32
Well took this pic the other day while I was messin around in the garden. It's up at Ashley's parents house. It's coming along pretty good. We took all the lettuce out the other day and I'm due to plant more onions just about out just not had time to get around to it. It's takin a lot of watering to keep her alive but the rain sure has helped.
wtnhunt
Looks good Cody. Things are a lot greener there than they are here. Just got done running the tiller between the rows a little earlier here this morning. Bad bad need of some rain here, we have gotten maybe 2 inches the last 2 months and that was all in one quick shot in a couple hours about 7 weeks ago. We had been watering a lot, gotten concerned about our well though and cut back and then yesterday Christina went and left the water running in our water trough for about 4 1/2 hours. Figure she ran about 4000 gallons of water out on the ground and down to our driveway.
dbHunterNY
yea thinking about hooking up a sprinkler to my garden and turning it on late evenings. not too dry, but dry enough here to where it'd help to have some more rain.

Tominator
Mine is struggling a bit too. It's been dry here, so I've been watering it almost every day. Peas are in now, so is the lettuce and spinach. I've picked a few peppers, summer squash and zuchini in the last 2 days. Green beans are just now coming on. First corn plot is just starting to tassle. Tomatoes are set, but still pretty green.
rbduck
Well, my apple trees are ready a month ahead of their normal time. Got three batches of apple jelly done and am working on a fourth. Apple sauce, apple marmalade next followed by apple butter. I haven`t even put a dent in the two trees yet. One year I put up 24 quarts of apple pie filling. Nothing like canning when it is almost 100 degrees out:cool:. Ron

Hardly any snow all winter last year with a warm spring. Warmest winter we`ve had in 40 years. Never got any apples last year either. Making up for it this year though. Back on garden talk, tomatoes are coming in here now, plenty of peppers too. Should be making some fresh homemade salsa this week.

rbduck
What variety of apples are you picking ?? Not quite too sure. We bought our house five years ago and it came with two crabapple (large type) trees. They are so laden with apples that the branches are touching the ground. I might have to do a major pruning this fall. Ron
wtnhunt
We have been having a ton of cucumbers come off alone with other stuff. Loads of cucumbers here too. Giving away a lot of them. with two crabapple (large type) trees. They are so laden with apples that the branches are touching the ground. I might have to do a major pruning this fall. Ron Crabapples we got here get no bigger around than your thumb, tree in our yard was loaded with them. Most of the fruit started falling off a while back though, way earlier than normal, just too dry I guess.
arrow32
Picked about 30 some cucs last night and a whole bag full of carrots going to be eating some roast tonight. Should be good. Also pulled up a few onions to go with it. Got a half a bag full of beans as well. Going to be plating a couple other things this week for the last time. The late squash and zuccini we planted in the second bunch should start putting some of here in the next week or two along with the ones we already have. The corn is coming along very nice to and should have some to eat soon.
rbduck
Update. I managed to put up six more pints of apply jelly before a big storm rolled through here last week and wiped out the rest of my apples. I wound up raking four big garbages bags full of ruined apples. Did my first batch of gooseberry jam today, doing another one tonight. Lots more not ready yet. I bought a food dehydrator yesterday. With this heat we`ve had, it looks like I`m going to have a bumper crop(to me) of assorted hot peppers. Going to make some hot pickled beans when the beans are ready. Still waiting on cukes, brussel sprouts, cauliflour,nd cabbage. Stay tuned. Ron
