redkneck
I know some of you hang out on AT. Me, not so much, but did come across this thread on another forum. Interesting reading if you skip though the comments and get to the testing posts. The guy definitely went through a LOT of trouble to do this: "Real Deal" Broadhead Testing Round 1! Rhino
Thanks John...now I just might have to do some experimenting on my own with the Steelforce Phathead. BTW...I see the base of the ferrul on the Phathead is wider than the arrow and the other 2 fixed blades heads. There's going to be less drag on the arrow when shot through plywood in his test with them. Still worth experimenting with though at ~$35/pack of 3. bowhunter97
i've been spending a lot of time over there looking for a cheap fast bow. haha
redkneck
Yeah the phathead caught my eye as well a thre shuttle-T's. You are correct in that the only thing this proves is that plywood can be shot with a bow, lol. However it is some very interesting anecdotal information. hoosierhunter
dont' waste your money on schwackers. Cracks me up all those mechanical failures. My muzzys look to be just fine! BTW what an awesome read if you have the time.
dbHunterNY
people are out there killing deer with some of the cheapest junk broadheads out. swhackers are durable for a mechanical, but as i've always said i don't like the design. doesn't give you a big entry. all the testing results made sense and didn't seem like something was weird. i've got Rage heads still and still feel comfortable shooting them. Ulmer Edge head seems like a good one. Aside from the Phathead results i'm not swayed to go back to fixed blade heads. definitely a good read.
