Strut10
Pulled my trailcam cards yesterday. They have been out for 5-6 weeks. Boy............. not a whole lot to look forward to at this point. Got a grand total of 2 bucks that were 2.5 or older. One's all dinked on the right side. The other (bad pic) appears to be wide with little tine length (ala Chinese Eyes from last year.......the one that got poached). Sure hope things look better on the next pull. redkneck
Hopefully you'll have something worth looking at next time Don. I been so busy with remodeling I haven't done squat. Gonna try to put out a can or two this weekend.
Ravin R10 man
Hey Mr Bean..I pulled a card up on some rental land, and did not have much better luck
Rhino
Not surprised your trail cam hits were low. According to my mentor...when it gets hot north of the Mason/Dixon...trail cam hits fall off a lot! It's been unusually hot up there for y'all. We'll check our 4 MO cams we have out the beginning of next week. Heading up there to check on camp progress, hang some more stands, & check the cams. MoHuntress
Don't go feeling like the Lone Ranger. I'm not seeing anything decent either. All of the bucks that I've got pics of so far, aren't even legal to shoot here. :bummed:
Ethan Givan
I typically get my cameras out in early July, but I generally dont start getting pics of the bigger deer until August. Just a trend I have noticed here.
Tominator
Kind of thought the same thing as Alan. Maybe the heat and lack of water got them laying low or heading to closer water?
dbHunterNY
yea with heat and stuff they're not moving much. haven't gotten much of anything around me.... reoccuring pictures of the same deer in the immediate area.
wtnhunt
Your getting better pics of bucks than I am Don, don't feel too bad. Dunno why for sure, but seems this time of the year when we start getting fawn pics there is about a 3-5 week period where the better bucks don't come around. Strut10
Oh............ I'm not worried yet. Was just hoping that over 5 or 6 weeks of run time on the cams I'd have gotten something to raise my eyebrows. I know there SHOULD be some DARNED nice bucks in the 3.5-5.5 year range wandering across the ranch from time to time. I know what I had left after season. I'd just like to see some pics. Strut10
Very true, too, that the temps in the mid and upper 90's can't be doing a whole lot of good for deer movement.
arrow32
Hope you get some better pics here soon to get the blood movin a little bit.
danthehuntinman
That you have cuddebacks being in the 90s your not going to get the pic's you usually would cause they are heat activated so the hotter it is the less pic's your going to get. I had that problem about 3 weeks ago I took it down and and put up a different camera and started getting alot more pic's. Not saying the deer aren't moving around up there just thought I'd mention that cause I was getting frustrated a while ago for the same reason.
