mhampel82
With deer season just around the corner what do you do to prep for the season? I have been shooting my bow in my backyard and watching a lot of hunting shows. I also ran to bass pro and go a few things.
whitetailfreak55
Shoot my bow trim, limbs around stands, hang stands on new properties, put out mineral, plant food plots, and run trail cameras. A lot of work goes into it but it pays off
dbHunterNY
so far i've been shooting in a 3D league, this past weekend i cleared some shooting openings around some stands, and have a trail cam out. will fix more stand locations and put out more cams as things get closer. redkneck
Been behind schedule this year, going to get a couple cams out this weekend.
wtnhunt
Been behind schedule this year, going to get a couple cams out this weekend. Seems I get further behind each year. Lots of things I had planned on doing this "off season" that I just have not been able to get to yet and some I probably won't get to. Hopefully we get a cooler weekend in the next couple weeks and I will get out with the chain saw and pruner and get some trimming done, bow season is a little over 2 months away. Got some ground to work for a couple clover plots I am re-doing too, seed will probably get broadcast around the first weekend of Sept. Rhino
what do you do to prep for the season? Practice shooting, reorganize gear, replace & get some new gear, run trail cams, post & preseason scouting (not sure when post ends & pre starts), hang stands (including trimming lanes, etc.), clear roads & ATV trails, cut & plant food plots...I probably left out something. If there is an off season, it's pretty short. BTW...welcome to the forum!
