hilltopper1
Right now I'm shooting a PSE Deer Hunter and looking to upgrade to a better quality bow but not too awful expensive. Looking for something no more than 500 dollars. Any suggestions?
redkneck
Best to go to bass pro or cabellas or somewhere you can shoot a variety of brands. Find what you like best and then figure out where you want to purchase it. Don't rule out a used bow if you find a deal, just find a reputable pro shop to help you set it up. Too many great bows under $500 to list.

haldermand
I recommend a Mission bow. Great quality, plenty of adjusting to do, a great company, and the money goes to a great cause. My first compound was a Mission UX2. It had a draw length of 22-30" and a draw weight of 40-60. Loved that bow!! When I bought a Mathews, I gave the UX2 to my mom to shoot for fun and she loved it so much that she decided she wanted I start hunting with it. hilltopper1
A buddy of mine has a PSE Stinger for sale. Going to shoot it tuesday. Priced it at 275 and he offered to set it up for me. Anybody ever shot one or have one?
dbHunterNY
Look at Bear bows, PSE's main line of bows, Mission, Parker, and Diamond.
dbHunterNY
.....if you're looking for bows including accessories look at the PSE Brute X in skull camo or the Diamond Outlaw in Realtree. Otherwise bare bow i'd look at a PSE Bowmaddness XS or right now Cabelas has a Martin Onza 3 on sale.
Jeramie
I agree, the list of $500 bows is Loooooooooong. You can easily find a good shooting deer killer in that price range. You need to find the one that fits you though. A $1k bow that doesnt fit you is worthless. Go shoot several and then pick the one the feels right. You may be surprised. TWS
I actually agree with the Mission comment. Mission bows are built with the same quality material as any other bow and shoots just as smooth. Rhino
Hahahaha...... sorry, that was supposed to be "folks". Posting from a phone with auto correct has bit me on that switchup a few times. LMBO...Thanks John...added those fools to my hunting & fishing gear favorites file for comparing prices anyway. you know they have a whole website dedicated to that. some pretty funny content on there. Might have to check that out for more laughs. Gotta agree with most that the list is real LONG for good bows under $500. With a list that long to choose from, being close to where I could get a bow serviced would sure be important to me. One of the main reasons I shoot Bowtech is I know the owner of the bowshop and his shop is ~5 minutes from my house. Bowtech has a great line of bows too! However, if he sold PSE instead of Bowtech, I'd be shooting a PSE.
