onlyprettier22
I've heard of many ways to position your hand while shooting your bow and have tried them all as well but I still find it more comfortable to hold tightly even though it makes me shoot a little less accurate. Any suggestions?
redkneck
Let it go! Just let the grip push against the "V" of your hand. Once you learn to not torque it you will be glad you did.
Jeramie
Yep.. what he said. I never grip the bow. When I was younger I did but eventually figured out on my own it was better to shoot with a "soft" hand. I never use a wrist strap, I actually just close my hand and catch the bow at the end of the shot. It makes a difference!

bowhunter97
I wrap my fingers around the grip but I have a soft hand i dont squeeze hard it is just comfortable for me to shoot like that.
Shaun_300
When I first started shooting a bow I used to grip it too, once you get comfortable holding it in the V of your hand you'll find your accuracy will improve quite a bit, I know mine did! arrow32
I just set it in the V of my hand. Like to put my pointer finger and middle finger jut ok the handle of the now like the tips with no pressure and the other two just kinda sit against my palm. Has always worked well for me and no torque
dbHunterNY
if you can't get over gripping the bow. close your pinky, ring finger, or both then go to "grip" to bow. feel free to let the fingers close naturally around the grip. forcing them open is wrong. sometimes people will tell you that your hand has to be angled more and it might feel awkward. this may or may not be good advice, because it's your hand gripping the bow and not theirs. as long as the bone in the heal of your palm isn't pushing against the grip, you should be in the "v" close enough. dbHunterNY
oh yea... here's another one. sit on your hand until it goes numb and then shoot. lol ....i'm kidding.
92xj
Grab a hold of that thing real hard. Like as tight as you can squeeze it for a good 15 seconds or more. Draw back and relax your grip to what you think is normal. I'll bet you fingers pull away from the grip and you're resting it in the v of you hand. Shoot and see what happens. Disclaimer...I have no idea if this works, but it sounds good in my head.

Leo
If the grip on the bow is too big for you. No amount of technique is going to help. On some bows you can get an aftermarket grip that's smaller and fits better. They aren't cheap but a good archery shop might have some you can try before you buy.
