Scbasshunter
I have read some bad reviews about these broadheads. I always thought Muzzy was a big name in archery? Anybody use these or have any experience with them?
Tim Andrus
Luv the MX3 100 grain its worked great for me! sometimes people blame the broadhead on bad shot placement . BUt not sure of the reviews that you read. So I cant comment on whatr happened just saying that I have used them for many years without fail.. Scbasshunter
I read alot of reviews that said they had bad flight. I was thinking of getting some. I use NAP thunderheads now.
redkneck
Always had good luck with muzzy, and that goes for the old style and mx-3 too.
bowhunter97
Always had good luck with muzzy, and that goes for the old style and mx-3 too. Same here but i havent used the mx3's and some of the reviews are stupid. I believe i read one one time that said something like this "i shot this deer at 20 yards and hit him in the back leg granted it was a bad shot but the blood trail could have been better"
arrow32
It's a pretty good head. I shot those NAP thunderheads and liked them pretty well to. Then switched to the NAP XP thunderhead it was a pretty decent head to.
Jeramie
I have shot a lot of different heads over the years. Thunderheads are about as sharp as they come, great heads but not real tough. Muzzy makes a great product too. They are tough as they come. However, with any fixed blade head you have to do some tuning. My guess is a lot of those reviews come from people who cant properly tune their heads. In said case its easy to blame the head.
redkneck
Take reviews with a grain of salt. I suspect half of them written both positive and negative are by folks with an economic interest in them. Any man that shoots a deer in the back leg and then whines about the lack of blood trail is a freakin idiot.
bowhunter97
Any man that shoots a deer in the back leg and then whines about the lack of blood trail is a freakin idiot. Exactly that is the true sign of an experienced hunter.... NOT Granted we have those mess ups but it takes real nerve to complain that te broadhead didnt cut big enough. Pretty much any broadhead aside from small game broadeads can kill deer actually a small game head probably could kill one but its all shot placement. That is why we shoot year around so we can get good hits. Edited August 14, 2012 by bowhunter97
Scbasshunter
If I were to switch to the MX3, would I be able to sight my bow in in one day? I have to work the next 2 days and will be in the woods Friday morning. My Thunderheads are good to go but I need new blades and figured I'd try a new broadhead. I like that the Muzzys come with practice blades so you can get true impacts points without messing up sharp hunting blades.
redkneck
If your bow is tuned right, and you shoot a good head, you do not need to adjust your sights at all.
hoosierhunter
Muzzy MX3 They need to be tuned to your arrow and they fly fine. I can stack my broad heads at 60 the same as my field points at that distance. You learn very quick not to group arrows with broad heads! Scbasshunter
I got the MX3s and they are right on target with the practice blades! I can only assume they fly the same with the regular blades. Hopefully this weekend I can put a Muzzy through my first deer with a bow!
