I called a local country station on my way into town Wed night and requested a Chris song, they played Garth. Pathetic, really. Chris wasn't a cookie cutter, massed produced Nashville replica, so they can't take 4 minutes to honor the life of a man who actually lived every word that he wrote. And that's why I don't listen to country radio anymore.

Steven
Re: Sad day for country music! If you like actual country and western music as opposed to the mass produced stuff they play on the radio, you owe it to yourself to listen to Chris LeDoux. But, if you think Keith Urban is country, you shouldn't listen to Chris LeDoux.

Steven
Re: Sad day for country music! If you live in a stereotypical country music world. Where everything is about drinking, momma, your truck and your old hound dog dying. Anyone who knows anything about Chris LeDoux knows that's not what he's about. He was a world champion rodeo cowboy and most of his songs are about the rodeo lifestyle. He's more western than country, and really almost more rock-n-roll than country. But he's still more country than most of the country you hear on the radio.
