buckee
Re: Gay marriage... Your right about hypocrisy Horst. You find it everywhere, not just in the church. I do my best to keep my eye on Jesus and my own life, instead of blaming God or Christianity for the hypocrites. It was hypocracy in my own family, that kept me from God for many years. If we judge God by all the hypocrites in the world, we will never come to know him as our "Personal" saviour and have our own "personal" relationship with him. [ QUOTE ] I'm not really understanding how we can all sit and be so set on the fact the second amendment protects out gun rights but were willing to overlook the division of church and state.I hear a lot of whats next scenarios concerning gay marriage in here. But whats next if we outlaw it.Since the country was founded on Christian principals what group should we ban next? Were at war right now, should we do away with the Islamic religion in America since it doesn't jive with what this country was founded on?It goes both ways, how far down the path of writing laws based on religion do we really wanna take it is the question. [/ QUOTE ] That is our predicament Horst...what do we do? "VOTE" That is the one important freedom we have at our disposal ...our vote As far as separating Church from State, it is impossible to completely separate it, unless you are willing to vote for complete atheists, all the way down the line. It is the gay movement that is demanding satisfaction here. We are now in a pickle, because a decision does have to be made one way or the other. The gay movement demands it. I guess most of the folks in here aren't old enough to remember, but it wasn't too long ago that the homosexual act was indeed illegal. "VOTE" ... let the chips fall where they may. johnf
Re: Gay marriage... Its not gonna affect your lifestyle, its not gonna affect mine. But it is going to affect your lifestyle and mine. It will effect the decisions you make and your idea of morality. 30 years ago a unmarried pregnant teenager was unusual. They went away to have their babies, or got married when they found out they were pregnant. Now there are churches that have baby showers for them and schools with day care centers just for them. We as tax payers are paying for that. The "free love" movement and the lowering of our moral standards changed our lifestyle. I'm paying for those babies with my tax dollars and so are you. 10 years ago the standards on tv were a lot higher. You can now show neudity and cuss on network tv. For that reason I don't watch any network tv shows. That is a change in my lifestyle that is dictated by someone elses lowering of the moral standards. Don't think for one minute that the lowering of standards will stop with this. It will only get worse unless it is stopped. BTW- Bukee did say it much better than I did.
