How does that work?

wtnhunt
I think it's funny that Pres Obama has endorsed the label of Obama-care and said he does care. So this label will probably stick for the Affordable Health Care Act. 5 Supreme Court justices upheld it, including Roberts, while 4 disapproved. Now it is on the books. Similar challenges came up against Social Security during the 1930s. This is nothing new. It's also funny how so many Ordinary Joe's try to play Supreme Court justice in addition. Not trying to play anything here, the transcripts are what they are. Correct about the ruling being a 5-4 ruling and Chief Justice Roberts decision being in favor of Obamacare as a tax, but the transcripts read that he only favored the healthcare act as being constitutional as a tax and further from what I took from his ruling it was not ruled as being constitutional the way it was proposed. Obama stood before the American people and said that the Obamacare was not a tax, in reality it is gonna turn out to be the single largest tax this country has ever seen. You choose to view it how you wish, overwhelming majority of the people of this country did not favor this. Obama blatantly lied to the American voters about the act before it became law. I have read the US Constitution many times, and I did not see anything in it regarding suspension of elections under martial law. This explains why elections went on as usual in all the states and across the nation during 911, Tet 1968, The Korean Conflict, WW2, WW1, and the US Civil War. Conflict abroad there was no reason for martial law to be declared and really no reason to suspend our elections. Our civil war was what it was. Sadly history has a tendency of repeating itself if allowed to do so. There has been a lot of commentary trying to probe and explain the hate from the far right groups for Pres Obama. But this also is nothing new. The far right also hated FDR, always has, always will. Anytime a visionary president leads the nation into a new era, such as today's affordable health care act, there will be factions crying on the sidelines, because instead of affordable health care, they wanted more tax cuts for the rich. Majority of people in this country are hardly what I would consider to be a "faction on the sidelines". Again, the majority did not want this healthcare act. Again, this election will be determined in the swing states. Two voting blocks in the swing states have already been alienated by the RNC. Women, who do not want to give up their abortion rights, and seniors, who do not want to give up their Medicare. That almost sounds like 2 strikes so far. Florida is full of women and seniors, by coincidence. And Florida is the big kahuna of swing states. You keep bringing up swing states, why? No one has said anything about swing states but you. Don't think there is any argument that swing states primarily Florida and Ohio going to be critical. I too just like anybody else enjoy a good horse race. This one is turning out to be really interesting. I do not fear any social unrest, other than from perhaps the far right, and then only isolated, not organized. Heaven forbid that it spawn another James Earl Ray. However it has spawned a Newt Gingrich, and that was bad enough for the past 20 years. Hopefully now that Newt has seen that his froggy face is not popular and will never be president, he will at least finally go away into retirement with one of his many x wives, and enjoy his Social Security and his Medicare and his tax cuts for the rich. Don't consider our nation's direction to be a horse race. This election should be about people deciding whether they want to continue on the path of careless spending or if they want a chance for a change in direction. Actually think it is rather important to the future of my children that some serious changes be made to the way the out of control spending is going. You don't seem to believe a civil war or any unrest possible from what I get of reading your posts, yet you keep bringing up James Earl Ray, if we saw what you are suggesting I am afraid things would take a real ugly turn real quick, maybe not to the point of a full blown civil war but there would be serious tension. m gardner
I wont play cat and mouse with you. Girls love to play that game, so if you are a girl then I can see why. If you are not then you have been apparently unduely influenced. The election issues are simple: swing state or not swing state. Obama has a cult following among his admirers. It is the Independents in the swing states that will make the election go one way or the other. The other states are already decided. The Reeps hate Obama and the Demos love him. Texas is Reep. Arizona is swing. I haven't heard such tough talk since 2nd grade. Sorry I sitting here just back from another archery hunt and I'm needed a good laugh. :pop:
