Flintlock1776
We lost an American icon tonight, the first man on the moon, Neil Armstrong. I remember tat hot Jul night as family and neighbors gathered around our TV to watch the accomplishment. We elaborated for some time after that. Tank you for your service Neil, rest in peace! Shoobee
I will always remember watching the tv coverage of the first moon landing in 1969. In the USA it was broadcast live on Sunday July 20 at 7 pm. In Europe it was broadcast live at 4 a.m. Monday July 21, and then rebroadcast later again that morning. You could easily hear the emotion in his voice. "Houston, Tranquility Base here, the Eagle has landed." It is on the list of the things you remember where you were when it happened. JFK shooting 1963 Tet Offensive 1968 Moon landing 1969 Big Quake Calif 1989 Twin towers 2001 The moon landing was a good thing, unlike the other memorables.
