Trevor
I was just wondering if anybody hunts from a ground blind and if so do you set it up and leave it in the woods or do you set it up and take it down in the same day. The land I hunt is private property owned by a friend of the family but in the past we have had some trespassers so I dont want to leave my blind in the woods. So do deer get spooked if I but up my blind and take it do when I leave.
weeman
I hunt out of pop-up style ground blinds and tree stands both. I normally setup them up before season and leave them up all season and only take them down if relocation is necessary but most of the time they stay where I originally place them all season. I too hunt private land at a cattle farm in NE Arkansas.
Flintlock1776
I use several versions of Double Bull Binds. Some I left up for weeks at a time and they survived some nasty storms when the wind blew some large tree limbs and smalls trees on them. I got a nice but about 30 minutes after setting it up. Before season I also cover them with waterproof spray. Not perfect but good enough.
mikebohio
i like to leave mine up. i usually put it up 30 days before season to let deer get use to it. i have never thrown one up and hunted out of it but i have got trail cam pics the same day i put it up. Michiganbowhunter_SQ2
Depends on where I'm at. Sometime I hunt in a small patch of woods behind the house, I'll leave it up then. Our deer camp for our gun opener is in the upper peninsula so I don't put my blind up until we get up there, usually 2-3 days before the opener. It hasn't really mattered so far, I see deer all the time in that spot.
BigBucks27
blind I hunt on state land so I definitely take the blind down!
Adjam5
We leave the blinds up for the duration of the seasons. We hunt only patrolled private family property. So we do not have theft issues. I would think scent getting all over the blind by transport and storage would be bad. So the blinds stay until the season is over. If you are worried about it. Set up a hidden trail cam nearby.
