RangerClay
Last year I ran arrow through a deer. I was shooting from a ground blind. The arrow passed through but did not slam into the ground. Well I set the arrow in a corner of the garage and I forgot about it untill recently discovered. I tried to remove the fixed broadhead but seems almost glued in. I used a broadhead wrench and a pair of pliers but the arrow spun in the pliers and tore some of the camo of my Maxima Hunters. I've got it soaking in hot water now. Is there another way to get the broadhead off without further damaging my arrow?
wtnhunt
Don't know Joe. Maybe some rust got in there, might try a shot of wd or liquid wrench or some type penetrating oil.
dbHunterNY
yea that's what i was thinking penetrating oil or WD40... could be some rust or just plain dirt and build-up. i screw my heads on finger tight only and then if i know i'll be out in weather i'll take a little bar soap or bow string wax to the threads. then i screw the head in. keeps moisture out and the heads from seizing up. VermontHunter
Joe, I had the same problem a couple years ago. What I did was heat the Broadhead with a propane torch, one of two things will happen, the broadhead itself will unthread or the insert glue will lossen and the insert will release, in either case the arrow will be saved and reuseable .. dbHunterNY
Luke's method will probably work... just pay attention the whole time. lol

Luke, what did you use to grab the broadhead? My broadhead wrench is plastic.
535hunter
maybe put the broad head in a pair of vice grips or something along that. i know that heat would work but like dbhunter said just pay attention since you want to re-use the arrow. VermontHunter
Luke, what did you use to grab the broadhead? My broadhead wrench is plastic. I used a pair of needle nose pliers and went vertically between the blades .... it doesn't take much heat so take your time ..
arrow32
Plus one on why Luke said. That's the first thing that popped into my mind. I've pulled inserts out many times in the past. But with a field point in not a BH will work just the same tho.

Leo
Spray it with some PB Blaster and let it soak in for an hour or two.
