jbeck
Used to come up there and watch a few games. My brother went to PSU and my Niece is there now. Any more the only reason for me to drive the 45 miles is to play toftrees. LOL
250savage
I didn't go there, but I was at win #400 (I don't care if they said they took away his wins, I was still there) and it was amazing. Tough start to the season but the support is still there. They still bleed blue and white. We Are!!
arrow32
It's sad. A whole program now shadowed by a few leaders mistakes. I feel bad for the kids. Nothin but the best for there new coach and staff.
muggs
They should just kill the program. Disgraceful, covering that up for the sake of football. Then they insist on playing on lose to a MAC team... What is the point. Your 'grandfatherly' figurehead is an accompliss to child rape...I'd be embarrassed to wear the colors. buckbuster11
Not sure what the point would be of killing the program. But they need to eradicate everything associated with Joe Paterno and his era up there. Franco sitting in a box last weekend with a cardboard cutout of Joe Paterno sitting next to him is disgraceful beyond all comprehensions. The behavior of the Paterno family has also been disgraceful beyond all comprehensions but that's a whole other story..

What good does it do to kill the program? It wouldn't do a thing. Anyone who was knew anything about it should be punished by law. Not sure how killing it would do anything
muggs
Because it's a constant reminder of what was allowed to happen there. They already suck, they're not going to get any recruits, and they'll get steamrolled and lose all the time. Just kill it. Or at the very least, take a few seasons off to recover, let things die down, then start anew. It was caring for nothing more than to maintain the program that create the cover up, now that same unwaivering need to maintain football is only adding more embarrassment. whitetailfreak55
I don't think killing the program would do much good either. They might suck but at least its kind of raising hope for the school. What happened was in no way right but there still needs to be a program IMO
250savage
Just remember that crap can happen ANYWHERE. Now in no way am I saying these two situations are the same thing, they are NOT, but your precious Buckeyes aren't perfect either.. Ohio State Buckeyes football penalties include bowl ban - ESPN So if this happened at OSU, wouldn't you still try your best to support them? Or would you completely abandon your team/school? That's a far stretch right there. Name one college in tw nation that's not doin improper benifits or has done them? You won't come up with many. PSU so on a whole other level with what they did. I see where your coming from I guess muggs but I'm not sure that would do anything better either.
arrow32
psu And to add MSU just got busted or is in an investigation for breaking rules.

Dude, arrow, thanks for stepping in here with some intelligence. 250savage, you should be ashamed of youself. Comparing kids selling their personal items for tattoes to decades of child rape and its cover up? Wow dude...just wow. This is the kind of thing we're dealing with here. The people in Happy Valley are so blind...sad really. daviswr, yeah, the SEC is gonna rule alright...that is unless they have to play the powerhouse that is UL Monroe...muhahaha...bunch of hacks you guys are. I miss the days when sensible guys like MCH, buckbuster and me were telling it like it was in this room.

They got nothing to loose and will win in the SEC this weekend. SEC is to tough for there own good. This year is a new mans year. Once the BCS era is bet the tear will be over. They will beat each they might have quality loses but how can the new system pick a 1 or 2 lose team over a PAC 12 big 12 or ten team that goes undeated in any I those conferences. SEC might be the deepest but there run is comig to an end
250savage
Okay maybe I should have worded that differently. I am NOT trying to defend Sandusky for what he did. He needs to burn and he will. And for the so called "officials" that did nothing about the situation need to burn too. It is incredibly tragic what happened and I was not trying to compare the two at all (and I thought I said that). I was simply trying to make the point that crap happens (and some is worse than others) and people will still try to support their team/school. arrow32
psu The crap happens statement would work a little better on me if this ain't a child abuse scandal but it's a child abuse scandal. Everything that program stood for is nothing it was built on lies. But muggs I'm still not saying killing it is the answer either all together.lol
250savage
Point taken. I say instead of killing it though, start fresh. And I feel that they are at least trying to with the new coach and putting the names on the jerseys. Baby steps apparently..
muggs
I just think they should at least have taken a few years off...let things settle and then get the fresh start. Imagine if they took three years off, then hired a big time coach to lead the rebuild. Imgaine what that would do for recruiting? You could sell kids on being a part of building it back up, AND, you could sell these kids on being able to play as freshman. Instead, these stubborn morons insist and force feeding football down everyone's throats with the cloud of decades of child rape hanging over everyone's head. They lose their star running back, they lose their big recruits and then they come out and lay two eggs the first two games. You tellin' me that's better?? I don't see it. pointing_dogs_rule
Nice to see the team play well last Saturday. Every week they seem to improve a little (even though Navy wasn't much). Still much weakness and inconsistency on offense, no kicking game & the teams "so-called strong point".... DEFENSE still has troubles making adjustments. NOT impressed with Ted Roof as the defensive coordinator. On another point I always liked Silas Redd and think he is a quality person and player. With last week against Stanford (2 TD's and 17 yards rushing) I hope this kid made the correct choice at USC. He's only a Junior so he has another year to prove himself at USC. With all the tailback plays and formations that O'Brien is using how would he be doing at PSU? good luck to all the dog
muggs
I think Silas Redd really hurt his draft status by making that move. It may get him a college National Championship, but with all the talent USC recruits for its skilled positions, I think he'll get lost in that backfield. If he would have been PSU's feature back, he probably would have been drafted in the first three rounds.
