Scbasshunter
Anybody who hunts early archery season knows that it's hot. By the time I get to my climbing stand and start climbing, I'm dripping sweat. By the time I get up the tree, well it's just rediculous. What do you do to remedy this problem? speedjunkiejp
No remedy. Frogg togg and water. Lol.
Scbasshunter
Frogg toggs? Not too heavy?
whitetailfreak55
There are field wipes that you use when you get to the tree stand. Sell them at wal mart
Scbasshunter
Do they work? I spray down but I just keep sweating. Especially wearing a long sleeve shirt.
whitetailfreak55
Never tried them but I think I'm going too this year. By the time I get to the stand I'm pouring sweat lol
Dawg
Best way to combat that is to not hunt the early season but I take my chances and hunt anyway.
Scbasshunter
I've got 2 bottles of water in the freezer now.
Ethan Givan
I dont hunt. Today is opening day here, but its in the low 80s and humidity is high. I didnt go out this morning and I wont be going out this evening either. If we can get highs down in the mid 70s, then I might think about going out. Scbasshunter
Anybody ever hunt in short sleeves?
Flintlock1776
Long sleeves, light gloves, Bug Suit pe undergarment and with this heat and the Nile Virus going on, I will have Two Thermacells with me. Each are good for 4 hours so use one and crank #2 up when the first one is done The Frog Toggs seem good, if only they came in camo! This may do it: Amazon.com: Grabber Magic Cool Personal Cooling Towel, True Timber Camo: Health & Personal Care Get long sleeve gutting gloves too Good luck! Scbasshunter
Long sleeves today and the sun is going to be on me the whole time. I have a good wind so as long as I can deal with being hot I should be ok.
wtnhunt
Anybody ever hunt in short sleeves? Yep, got a short sleeve shirt that is very lightweight that I wear on rare occasions. Shirt has a treatment that is supposed to help kill odors. When I bought that shirt I was using it with a long sleeve mesh bugsuit. There are lightweight clothes on the market in long sleeve and short sleeve.
Nut
When it is warm I usually go in earlier in the morning and later in the evening. Light camo and use face paint instead of a mask. (It smears with the sweat unless you wipe down and cool off first).
hoosierhunter
Sweating during early season. Sweat is your biggest factor to being smelled outside of clothing holding other scents. I actually over apply scent killer to help out. I usually hunt mornings or stands with very short walks to fight this.
