Team 6 - Stackin' Racks

Recommended Posts

MB48 4 years is a long time away from something you really love doing. If you know the land you're hunting chances are you won't have a problem scouting a spot to hunt starting with your old hunting spots. Some places are good year afer year. We'll all be doing some scouting during the season too. The trick is being sneaky during the season to minimize disturbance to the area you're hunting.

Hope Weeman & Huntingman check in soon. I'd sure hate to start 2 team members short.

yea the area has changed behind the house a little, dad says weve been having a few does cross regulary in the back as well as a decent 8 and small 6. then come nov 2 i head up to jackson county ohio to hunt for a week on some prime land with a good friend of mine. he says there are some big bucks up there. so im goin to hold on a buck until atleast rut, unless i have an absolute awesome buck come in. my plan is to hold out untill atleast a 150 class walks through.

Spent most of the day at either the oral surgeon's office or my dentist office. Implant time. Finish up with the rest tomorrow afternoon. After that free till next Thursday...so...heading to Missouri Wednesday morning. My buddy & I will hunt for about 6 days. Still lots of chores to do up there so we'll work on those in the mornings & bowhunt the afternoons.

Just so y'all will know, I sent John a PM letting him know we may be in need of an alternate teammate or 2. I told him the number of post made by both in the forum too. I also told him I PM'd both of them on 9/12. We'll see if one or both shows up real soon & what John suggest we do.

Leaving for MO early tomorrow. Cell service sucks up there. I'll be back by next Wednesday night at the latest.

I finally got time to throw a few arrows downrange. Just as I remembered from last year, dead center. Now just to shoot and get back into the groove. It's cooling off nicely up here in Cheese land. Not sure if I will get out before the end of the month. I got a work conference in Ohio and then a family reunion the last weekend. Might shoot for the 30th, full moon.

Good Luck to all those out in the field already.

Just got a call from my buddy that owns the property in Missouri. He has a business meeting in Houston Tuesday and needs to prepare for it so I won't be heading to MO until after his meeting. Looks like I'm headed to the MS woods this weekend to check cams again and do some more preseason preparation.

I just saw that I got put on this team as an alternate. Awesome...was bummed to miss this years contest. Adds a little something to the hunting season. For those of you who don't know me, as I'm not here as often as I used to be, My name is John, I hunt in Connecticut. I mainly bowhunt, but get out a few times each season with the rifle, shotgun, and muzzle loader. My opener was Saturday...I sat in a stand for a little over 17 hours, one Saturday and Monday, without a deer sighting. Historically, when the property I hunt is dead at the beginning of the season, it is rockin during the rut. Last year was the first year in over 10 years that I didn't take a deer, and that was only because I passed multiple small bucks, and does with fawns...just the way it worked. Hpefully I can add a rack to the stack!!!!!

Welcome to the team Tedicast! I think we'll be right up there with the top teams this year.

Thanks for taking care of it for us Redneck! Maybe next year a rule can be added that everyone on the team needs to check in within three weeks of teams being picked, or they will be replaced. I think I've had no-shows on my team almost every year.

Yeah, me too. I'm already thinking that's pretty much the way it needs to be worded. Maybe your other team mate will check in soon.

Checking in here guys. Haven't been on much due to work and family. Season has been in since the first and I haven't been hunting yet, just been to darn hot for me. I'm planning on getting out this weekend and next week and try to get some meat for the freezer. I'll try checking in on a more regular basis. Good luck to all and keep your shots streight and true.

Heading to the MS camp tomorrow to check cams & a few other chores. Last weekend's cam run was pretty poor. Got quite a few young bucks and a disappointing looking short tined 3.5 year old 6 point. The only mature buck I caught was this old, pot belly buck that I passed up last year during our gun season. This year he's just a bigger version of what he was last year. Here's a couple of the recent pics of him and one from last year. Last year he was ~17" wide...he's sure added to his spread this year.

Last year...left brow tine was broken off.
