What are you going to do?

Back in 2007 I put a post on this forum about the ethanol being put into gasoline. When I said something about using corn for fuel instead of food I got slammed like an outhouse door by quite a few folks. I also think I said something about the fact the mixture might be detrimental to engine parts.

Watch the price of a bushel of corn this fall as the harvest comes in. With the nationwide drought conditions we have experienced this summer production is down by 40% in alot of areas. With the commitment we have to foreign markets for corn deliveries, the speculators anticipating huge profits for sales to the fuel producers and the demand for feed for meat animals we may have a shortage of corn for the food industry. Watch the cost of a box of corn flakes on grocery store shelves. Any guesses on the price of beef or pork this winter?

It has been well documented across the industry the ethanol fuel is damaging internal combustion engines. This especially holds true in the small engine industry. You can ask marineas about the damage to fuel tanks when this fuel is put into them. Oftentimes the fuel eats into the plastic gel liner in the tanks and the result is plugged fuel systems. In alot of cases the boats are built around the fuel tank down in the hull and repairs are extremely expensive if even possible.

Check the price of an injector for the so called flex-fuel vehicles produced today. Nearly $300 each as opposed to $60 for a standard engine. This is just the beginning.

What am I going to do?

I have already done more than most. I have called my legislators, E-Mailed them and written letters opposing the ethanol in gasoline. As someone who has worked in the auto repair field the majority of my working life I feel a responsibility to protest this fuel production. If more would join in maybe we could get some action.

Now however we have a food crisis with the huge vast midwestern and intermountain drought.

While at the same time the hippies and their vermin offspring in California have prevented any new major dams being built since Hetch Hetchy in the 1920s. Even though we need the water.

Too much dope smoking has caused this. Not to mention cocaine lines. But this is the new prohibition era of the 21st Century. Maybe if you gave the hippies and their offspring even more dope legally, they would relax and vote for more dams?

Then California could grow enough food to feed the rest of the nation.

Hard to say.
