MUDRUNNER
Well, we made it home last night from our long weekend Disney trip. It was memorable to say the least. We stayed at Disney's All Star Sports resort. It was o.k. The outside was neat, but the rooms aren't anything special. The main pool was closed for refurbishing which kinda stunk, so we didn't do much pool lounging. The Magic Kingdom was great. The kids had a great time, and my 8 year old daughter went on her first roller coaster ride with me on Space Mountain. Since it was her first time the guy working there gave me a picture of us on the ride for free, which was great since they usually get $18 a picture. We did get stuck on the Pirates of the Carribean ride for an hour and a half, which through our dinner plans out the door. We got on at 7:30 and it was 9 when we got off. Overall though it was great. Sunday we hung out and took it easy. Visited a few of the other resorts, and rode the mono rails around. Pretty relaxing day just wandering around without a set schedule or any place to be. Now..on to Monday. My wife and boy wanted to go to Animal Kingdom, my daughter and I wanted to do Hollywood Studios. We did Animal Kingdom, and things were going great. My daughter and I rode Mt. Everest roller coaster. (Which is great by the way) While my wife and son were waiting for us to get off of the ride, he fell and broke his arm. It was awefull. His forearm was bowed and his wrist was pointing down. he's the toughest little guy....5 years old and never cried once. Luckily the paramedics were close by and we got him in an ambulance pretty quickly. The x rays at the ER showed both bones above his wrist were broken. I have to say that everyone from the Animal Kingdom, the paramedics, the doctors and nurses, and the resort were extremely helpful with the situation. They helped us out any way they could and really made us feel comfortable considering we had no idea where we even were at the time. The nurses even took their picture with him for our vacation photo album lol. They got his bones reset and splinted up for the flight home. Tomorrow we go see an orthopedic surgeon to see what's next. Hopefully they can cast it up and send us on our way without needing surgery, pins, or plates. It's the first time either of the kids have been really hurt bad. If you think about send a word to The Man upstairs for my little trooper. It's not a trip I'll soon forget. MUDRUNNER
sorry to hear that about your son, at least he will always remember his trip No doubt about that! A lot of "firsts" for him on the trip lol. My highlight of the weekend was my little girl riding on the coasters with me. The arm still to swollen for a cast. Going to try and get one on next week, but things look like lined up pretty good on todays x-rays. It's his left hand, and he's a lefty so he's struggling with a few things....in perticular wiping his rear end!

Shoobee
It seems like little kids are often breaking something. I did not break anything until I stared football practice in 7th grade. Then I broke my collar bone, right wrist, and left arm. And later on an ankle in tennis from stepping on a ball, and a rib in a fall chasing a buck deer down a steep hill. None of these breaks needed to be set, just isolated and immobilized. Then they all healed themselves. Welcome to life. Bones don't always fare all that well. Particularly when we are having fun. Mach1
We've got one more full day left in our trip here at Disney. Our kids (4 yrs & 16 months) have had a blast. We've hit Magic & Animal kingdoms, Epcot, and Typhoon Lagoon so far with Hollywood Studios coming up tomorrow before flying home Sunday. We have been staying at the All Star Music resort which is fine. My wife booked the trip months back to include most meals and everything. Outside of a few souvenirs, we've spent little cash. I have been impressed with how clean most of the grounds are and with the meals we've had. Food is always a big thing for me.
