dbHunterNY
Not sure how many of you keep your bow in a case. If you do, use velco to secure everything and put arrows in foam slots. if you've got broadheads and other little stuff get a little case or box for them to put in your bow case. i just finished up work on a cousin's bow. i pulled it out of his case unfastened with arrows and all kinds of stuff loose in there, including dirt packed mechanical broadheads and deer hair. his string looked beat to crap from it all and never waxed before! it's one thing to hunt hard, but it's another not to take care of the primary thing you need to fill a tag. a happy hunter is one that opens his or her case and doesn't need to worry if they'll find there unstrung bow in pieces. 535hunter
I put mine a plano case. use the velcro to secure the bow but i dont have foam slots. i have the slots to put arrows which i do. i put my targets under the foam that backs my bow. i bought a plano fishing tackle box for lures. I use it to hold my bow wax, tools, and my broad heads. i put a bunch of cotton balls around them so i dont damage my broad heads. it was a cheaper alternative and holds more than an broad head case. works great for me. sorry to hear that your cousin doesnt take care of his stuff. i have a family friend that was that way with his rifle. took for ever to clean it. barrel packed with mud and the action was absolutely disgusting. arrow32
Keep your case neat!! Always a good idea. I keep mine away safe in the case when transporting. At home it's always out hanging.

wtnhunt
Only arrows that go in my case don't have broadheads on them, spares or field tipped. My bowcase won't take the bow with quiver on and the arrows with broadheads are in my quiver.

dbHunterNY
So what your really saying is your cousin isn't much of a hunter lol. oh no Pat ... he kills lots of deer. he's just going to have some down time if his bow doesn't make it one of these days. then when one of his cousin's shoots a buck from one of his treestands because he doesn't have anything to hunt with he'll learn. lol
hoosierhunter
Keep your case neat!! Hate for the string to pop from touching a blade. He could really hurt himself.
dbHunterNY
Hate for the string to pop from touching a blade. He could really hurt himself. i don't believe he has to worry about that happening. i checked it all over and pulled the serving off too to check underneath. you are 100% right though... that is not something you want to happen. very bad things can happen. keeping your bow in a case as i described above can definitely cause it to happen. bottom line... don't do it! Jeramie
My bow hangs on the wall 24/7 untiil hunting season. Then during hunting season I use a case to and from the field. Im pretty anal about my bow... good post..
deer slayer
Keep your case neat!! My bow stays in my gun safe and when I transport it she's in a case all by herself.
Rhino
Mine is always strapped securely in the case when I'm going to & from my hunting spot if I'm using my truck or UTV. Only arrows I keep in my case are field tipped arrows & they are secured in the foam slots. Too much of a risk with broadheads for me to trust the foam arrow slots in the case though. I keep my broadhead tipped arrows in a seperate arrow case. When traveling in the field with my UTV going to or from where I'm parking it, my bow's in the case & hunting arrows are in the quiver outside the case. I'm anal about that. Dust getting in the bushings can wear them out so I like to keep my bow as clean and dry as possible.
ckrich
I had a Plano case, but wasn't ever comfortable with the accessory storage. It always seemed like I would have an arrow come loose no matter how well I pressed it in the storage rack(field points only). I started keeping a Primos bow sling on it at all times to put my mind at ease. This summer I started researching different bow cases, deciding that I wasn't willing to take the risk. I ended up getting a Bowfile case from Lakewood Products. It definitely wasn't cheap, but came with an accessory case and an arrow case and now everything I need to keep with my bow is stored safely in it's own area away from my bow. Completely worth it in my opinion.
